Residence Life is seeking a Pennsylvania College of Technology student or recent graduate to work within the Residence Life Department and with Information Technology Services to develop and refine its current software programs and related applications and to assist Residence Life staff with the use of this software.
Minimum qualifications include:
Must be a Penn College student or recent graduate
Must have successfully completed two years of education in an Information Technology or related discipline
Must possess a strong understanding of software applications and programming
Ability to understand and follow verbal and written instruction
Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in written form
Ability to work on own initiative
Ability to work collaboratively with peers and professional staff
Ability and willingness to carry out responsibilities in a positive and timely manner
Good problem-solving skills; ability to visualize a problem or situation and think abstractly to solve it
Familiarity with the Penn College environment
Knowledge of common operating systems used at Penn College, i.e. Microsoft Office, HMS, Crystal Reports, etc. or ability to become knowledgeable
Ability to work responsibly with or without direct supervision
This is a temporary position starting April 15, or as soon thereafter as feasible, and ending on May 20, 2009. Hours will be up to 18 per week. Work schedule will be flexible to meet the needs of the incumbent and the college. Rate of pay: $9 per hour.
